BuildCalcWorks operates BuildCalcWorks.com, a website providing construction, home-improvement and material-estimation calculators.

The legal identity of the operator responsible for this website is being published as part of finalising this policy, together with a dedicated privacy contact address. Until then, please use the contact details on our About page.

This policy applies to the BuildCalcWorks.com website, including:

• calculator pages
• category pages
• project guides
• site search and the calculator directory
• contact mechanisms, where these are offered
• other BuildCalcWorks functionality served from this domain

Websites we link to are operated by other organisations and are governed by their own privacy policies, not by this one.

We keep this deliberately small. BuildCalcWorks has no user accounts, no newsletter, no database of visitors and no payment processing.

Information you provide

There is currently no contact or sign-up form on the site. If you write to us about privacy or about a calculator, we receive your message and whatever contact details you include, and we use them only to reply.

Calculator inputs

BuildCalcWorks calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser to generate the requested calculation and are not sent to or stored by BuildCalcWorks. See Calculator Data below.

Privacy choices

Your consent choice is stored in your own browser so we do not have to ask on every visit. It contains the categories you chose, the date and the consent version — nothing that identifies you.

Calculator fields are meant for project measurements and material information — lengths, depths, spacing, quantities, densities and any prices you choose to enter. Please do not type personal or confidential information into measurement fields.

• All calculations run in your browser. No calculation request is sent to a BuildCalcWorks server.
• We do not save your entries between visits, and we do not store them on our side at all.
• While you use a calculator, your entries are reflected in the page address so the result can be copied, shared or bookmarked. If you share such a link, the values in it travel with it, so check the address before sending it to anyone. Reset clears the values from the address.
• Copy Result puts the summary on your own clipboard, and Share uses your device's own sharing feature. Neither sends anything to us.
• BuildCalcWorks does not currently require an account to use its standard calculators.

Loading a page is still a request to a server, so ordinary web infrastructure processes technical information even though the calculators themselves run in your browser. This typically includes your IP address, browser and device information, the URL requested, the time of the request, the referring page, and entries in server or error logs.

This happens so that pages can be delivered, faults diagnosed, abuse and attacks prevented, and the service kept running. We do not use it to build profiles of visitors, and we do not combine it with anything else.

Log retention is governed by our hosting provider's infrastructure and security settings; we have not configured a separate period and do not claim a specific one.

We use one strictly necessary storage item — the record of your privacy choice — and nothing optional is active today. Our consent system is organised into four categories:

• Necessary: Required for the website to function correctly and cannot be disabled through this consent panel.
• Analytics: Helps us understand how visitors use BuildCalcWorks so we can improve the site.
• Advertising: Used to display and measure advertising. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.
• Functional: Enables optional features and preferences that are not required for the core website to work.

Analytics, advertising and functional technologies stay switched off unless you allow them where consent is required. The full, hand-maintained list of what is in use lives in our Cookie Policy.

Where processing relies on consent, you can refuse it and you can withdraw it later. Withdrawing does not affect processing that already happened lawfully, and optional tracking stays off until valid consent exists where consent is required.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, the legal basis depends on what the processing is for. The two rows about analytics and advertising describe processing that is not happening yet.

We intend to support this free site with advertising, but no advertising is running yet. The ad areas on calculator pages are placeholders, and no advertising script, cookie or identifier is loaded.

BuildCalcWorks may use advertising services such as Google AdSense in the future. If advertising is activated, this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated to identify the relevant providers and data practices, including a link to Google's own explanation of how it uses data on sites that use its services.

Personalized advertising for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland requires a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Our own preference panel is not such a platform and we do not present it as one; a certified platform will be added before advertising goes live, and advertising consent will then be taken from it.

BuildCalcWorks does not currently use optional analytics tracking. No analytics provider is installed, and no measurement identifier exists in the site. If analytics is added later, it will load only after you allow the Analytics category where consent is required, and this policy and the Cookie Policy will name the provider, its purpose, the data involved, the legal basis and its retention first.

Calculator pages include labelled product sections. No affiliate network, affiliate link or affiliate tracking technology is active today.

Where affiliate relationships become active, BuildCalcWorks may earn a commission if you make a qualifying purchase through certain links. Following such a link takes you to a third-party website, and that company's own privacy policy then applies to what happens there. An ordinary outbound link of this kind does not involve us selling personal information. If an affiliate programme ever places tracking pixels or cookies on BuildCalcWorks itself, those are gated behind the matching consent category.

This is the privacy explanation only. The commercial disclosure shown beside recommended products is separate and stays where it is.

This table is maintained by hand from the site's actual configuration. "Planned" and "not active" services process nothing today.

Our hosting provider (Lovable) serves the website on our behalf and acts as a processor for that purpose. Companies such as Google act as independent controllers for their own services, so they decide certain things themselves; we do not describe every third party as our processor.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not publish or trade visitor data. Information may be processed by others only where it is necessary:

• service providers acting on our behalf, such as hosting and content delivery
• advertising or analytics providers, if those are activated and where you have given any required consent
• where the law, a regulator or a valid legal process requires it
• to investigate security incidents, abuse or fraud
• in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the site, if that ever happens

Because pages are delivered by a hosting provider and fonts are served by Google, we do not claim that no data ever reaches a third party.

Providers involved in delivering this site may process technical data outside Norway and the EEA. Where that happens and transfer safeguards are required, they rest on the mechanisms those providers use — for example an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

We do not claim that all data stays within Norway or the EEA, and we do not assert a specific safeguard for a provider we have not verified.

Consent preferences

Stored in your browser for up to 180 days, or until you clear your browser data or change your choice. A material change to our consent categories resets it sooner.

Server and security logs

Kept according to our hosting provider's infrastructure and security settings. We have not set a separate period of our own and do not state a number we have not verified.

Messages you send us

Kept only as long as reasonably needed to deal with your message and for ordinary recordkeeping.

Calculator inputs

Not stored by us at all, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the site and any information involved in running it. In practice this includes serving the site over HTTPS, keeping administrative access limited, keeping software dependencies updated, and holding as little data as possible — the strongest protection here is that the calculators do not send your entries anywhere.

No website can promise absolute security, and we do not claim to.

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have the following rights. They apply to personal data about you, and they depend on applicable law — in most cases the only thing connected to you that exists here is the choice stored in your own browser, which you can change or clear yourself.

• Access: you may ask whether we process personal data about you and request a copy where applicable.
• Correction: you may ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion: you may ask us to delete personal data in the circumstances applicable law provides. We cannot delete something we are legally required to keep, and we cannot delete what we never held.
• Restriction: you may ask us to restrict processing in the circumstances the law provides.
• Objection: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We do not send marketing email; if that ever changes, you will be able to object to it.
• Portability: this applies only to certain data and processing under the conditions set by law. We do not offer data exports for information we do not hold.
• Withdrawing consent: at any time, as described below.
• Complaint: you may complain to a supervisory authority.

Cookie Settings

The same control appears in the footer of every page and in the Cookie Policy, and they all open the same preference panel — there is no second set of settings to keep track of. If a certified consent platform is added for advertising, its own revocation flow will be wired into this same control rather than creating a conflicting state. You never need to contact us to withdraw consent.

BuildCalcWorks calculators generate results automatically from values entered by users, but these calculations are not intended to constitute automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about individuals. They are deterministic arithmetic on the measurements you type, and they are estimates for planning — not judgements about you.

No artificial-intelligence service processes your entries. If such a feature is ever added, this section and the rest of the policy will be reviewed first.

BuildCalcWorks is a general construction and home-improvement utility service and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's personal information has reached us unlawfully, please contact us using the details below so we can look into it.

Our pages may link to retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, affiliate partners, standards bodies and other external resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

We update this policy when our services change, when a new provider is introduced, when our processing practices change, or when legal requirements change. Material changes update the Last Updated date at the top of this page; routine site deployments do not.

Where a change materially affects cookie purposes, vendors or consent categories, we also ask for your consent choices again.
